LONDON – Sky Sports will show the boxing rules super-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor exclusively in the UK.

Sky Sports Box Office will broadcast the August 26 bout live from Las Vegas. Viewers will have to pay £19.95 to watch the hugely anticipated fight.

Sky fought off competition from BT Sport and ITV to land the British television rights, which were being sold by sports agency and producer IMG.

“This is surely one of the most anticipated and intriguing contests we’ve ever seen on Sky Sports Box Office,” said Sky Sports head of boxing Adam Smith.

The contest is expected to be lucrative for Sky.

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn recently confirmed that Sky Sports Box Office sold the Mayweather vs Pacquiao event to 1 million UK households in 2015.

If a similar number of viewers purchase Mayweather v McGregor, then Sky would make nearly £20 million in pay-per-view sales alone.
